Making Your Voice Heard:

A Toolkit for Advancing the Policies that Matter for YOUR Community

Updated April 24 2025

Introduction

No matter who you are or where you live, we all want a better future for our families and communities. But too often, our voices are drowned out by corporate lobbyists and wealthy special interests.

This toolkit helps you connect with elected officials, share your story, and push for the policies that matter to you. When we come together as we have in the past, we can win the policies our families need—clean air and water, good union jobs, great schools, healthcare for all, paid leave, affordable housing, and more. From stopping the repeal of the ACA to winning more funding for food stamps, our voices can and do make a difference. We’re here to help make sure that everyone has a say in the policies that shape our lives.

Will you join us?

Elected leaders listen to their constituents—especially when we’re organized and sharing our stories and experiences. We need your help to make sure they are listening to OUR voices, not just big corporations or the wealthy and well-connected. By making our voices heard, we can help ensure that those most impacted are at the center of decision-making.

Use this toolkit for tips on how to make your voice heard and stay up to date on what’s happening in Congress with our free weekly DC Download newsletter.
