What Would Republicans’ Budget Cuts Mean For You?

Republicans in the House of Representatives are planning draconian cuts to government programs and services that families depend on. In April, we broke down the harmful effects those cuts would have on workers, children, and others. In recent weeks, House Republicans have made clear that their plans will not cut funding for defense programs, the VA, or border security. As a result, Republicans will enact even deeper cuts to critical programs and services our communities need. 

On May 23, 2023, the White House released nationwide and state-level data outlining the harms these magnified cuts will have on various communities. This fact sheet describes just a few of those harms.
